Adios 2017. And good riddance.
It seems an almost universally accepted truth that 2017 wasn't the best of years. Here's hoping 2018 is better ( or, if that's too much to ask for, at least no worse ).
On the plus side, I got the website up and running, and people have said nice things, and bought stuff, for which I am very grateful.
I must also send thanks to the guys at the Google Garage in Birmingham, who provided support, advice, and knowledge. Much of which had been invaluable. Not only with the technical ( so I now better understand what 'search engine optimisation' is ), but also on a personal level ( so I had the confidence that what I was trying to achieve was worthwhile trying to achieve ).
So, going forward.
I have done some minor updates to the website. Most exciting ( for me ) was adding the photo of Steve Hackett with my 'Genesis 1970 - 1977' illustration
( see 'Music Inspired' section ). That was so very, very cool.
Work is also starting on my next 'Proggy' illustration. It was a toss-up between 'Pink Floyd' and 'Rush', and after some internal debate, external discussions and throwing it open to Prog fans online, the decision is 'Rush'.
There's nigh-on 40 years of fantastic Rush music to draw on.
Now begins the long & drawn-out process of gathering and honing ideas, doing the initial sketches, and planning the overall layout.
Once that's done, I can start the equally long & drawn out process of actually creating and compiling the final illustration .
More updates to follow, as and when.
