During Coventry's year as the UK's 'City of Culture' I was one of five local artists chosen to be an
'Artist-in-Residence', based in the city's 'Methodist Central Hall'.
For that year I hosted a number of free origami workshops, which were open to anyone who dropped by,
& who wanted to make something. These are a few of my photos from these workshops.
It was such a pleasure to meet, & chat, with visitors from Coventry, & from further afield.

I've hosted workshops for organisations such as Coventry University, The Belgrade Theatre, The Coventry Thrive Festival, & Arts Uplift. I endeavour to ensure my workshops are suitable for all ages & abilities,
& that nobody should feel that they are being left behind, or that what we are making is beyond them.
I also try to ensure that my workshops are 100% fun. They're a space for mindful relaxation.
People often underestimate their own creative powers.
All of the following photos are of genuine 'first-time' makes by attendees, who had little-to-no previous origami experience (just look at their happy little faces).
If you're thinking that a workshop might be the very thing, then drop me a message via the contact form at the bottom of each page, or email me directly at mark@mdaillustration.com.
My workshops work best for a group of around 10, or fewer, with a run-time of about 1 - 2 hours.
