"Jennifer Gentle, You're a Witch!"

If you're not familiar (pun intended) with those words, it's a line from 'Lucifer Sam', a track from Pink Floyd's debut album, 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn'.

You may have noticed Jennifer & Sam on the home page of this website. They also make an appearance in my 'Pink Floyd Pt 1' illustration. There's a lengthy process involved when deciding which references to include in a Prog Poster. Initially it involves listening to the music over & over, making lots of notes about what I think will make for a fun / interesting visual reference.

Jennifer & Sam were a perfect choice: a song I really like, plus the opportunity to create some fun characters. I've always imagined that Jennifer was less an actual witch, & more a young woman who was into dancing around stone circles by moonlight.

In my design I've tried to combine the obvious 'witch' references (look at that magnificent hat) with just a hint of the spirit of the psychedelic 60s.
